About the Position
Flawky Studios is seeking a visionary Art Director & 2D Specialist to serve as the visual partner to the Game Director.
This is a leadership role. You will define the visual soul of our unannounced Action-RPG. You will be responsible for establishing the “Indo-Gothic” art style, designing the User Interface, and ensuring visual consistency across the entire 3D team. You are not just drawing assets; you are defining the world.
Key Responsibilities
1. Visual Direction & Leadership
• Art Direction: Partner with the Game Director to establish the visual pillars of the game. You will create the Style Guide that the 3D Environment and Character artists follow.
• Cohesion: Provide visual feedback to the 3D team to ensure characters, environments, and VFX feel like they belong in the same universe.
2. Concept Art & World Building
• Environment Concepts: Paint mood pieces and architectural breakdowns to help the Level Designer and Environment Artist visualize the Citadel and the corruption.
• Character Design: Create concept sheets (Turnarounds) for armor, weapons, and enemies to guide the 3D Character Artist.
3. UI/UX Design
• User Interface: Design the visual language of the game’s menus, HUD, and inventory screens.
• Iconography: Create high-quality 2D assets for Skill Trees, Inventory Items, and Map Markers.
• UX Flow: Work with the Programmers to ensure the UI is intuitive and accessible.
4. Branding & Marketing Art
• Identity: Design the official Game Logo.
• Key Art: Illustrate high-resolution marketing assets (Key Art) for the Steam Store page and social media campaigns.
Qualifications
• Versatility: A portfolio showing a mix of Concept Art (Environments/Characters) and Graphic Design (UI/Logos).
• Art Direction: Ability to give constructive feedback to 3D artists (Paint-overs).
• Style Range: Ability to execute a dark, atmospheric “Indo-Gothic” fantasy style (blending Indian architecture with Gothic horror).
• Tools: Mastery of Photoshop, Illustrator, or equivalent digital painting software. Experience with Figma/Adobe XD for UI prototyping is a plus.
Compensation & Partnership
This position is structured as a Director-Level Partnership.
• Profit Sharing: You will be awarded a legally binding share of 6.0% of the Game’s Net Profit following commercial release.
Note: As Art Director, this share reflects your leadership status.
• Creative Control: You have a direct say in the visual development of the IP.
• Attribution: You will be credited as Art Director in the game credits and marketing materials.
